Alain Ducasse presents the best in French brasserie cuisine at the divine restaurant Benoit

Benoit in New York City is the brainchild of famous and very highly regarded French Chef Alain Ducasse, and is a rational French restaurant in every sense. The original Benoit was opened in Paris in 1912 and taken over by Ducasse years later and is a chic and typical Parisian brasserie. Ducasse swiftly opened a second in Tokyo and now his third Benoit is currently wowing New York’s diners with its pure French authenticity. You really do feel as if you have stepped off the New York streets and straight into Paris when you enter this superb brasserie. Cosy red banquettes, dark wood panelling and walls adorned with black and white prints of the Paris Benoit as well as cartoon scenes of Paris really give an authentic air to the place. The relaxed and informal bar area is decked out in black and whites with a blue and yellow original bakery ceiling above and old pub tables serve as the seating in which to enjoy light French bites accompanied by a glass of France’s finest wine. Under the guidance of Ducasse, Head Chef Pierre Schaedelin has created a stunning and very authentic traditional French menu with dishes such as duck foie gras terrine with toasted Parisian brioche; skate wine meunière with broccoli rabe, lemon, capers and brown butter or duck á l’orange braised leg, glazed turnips and rutabaga. The signature dish of calves liver with Lyonnaise potatoes and slow simmered onions is divine. Ducasse has brought the Parisian brasserie to New York with style and passion with the incredible restaurant Benoit.
